| Our continuum of family services is comprised of childcare, housing, job training, employment referrals, classes in English (ESL), literacy assistance, benefits advocacy and medical referrals, respite care, and assistance with college admissions. Child abuse prevention programs and prenatal assistance for parents-to-be are also available. Watch the video. Since 1965, VOALA has offered high-quality programs and services to low-income or single parent families, and full-time students with children at our founder’s namesake Maud Booth Family Center, a SECURE AND ENRICHING ENVIRONMENT for education and development. Our Affordable Housing is suited especially for WORKING POOR AND SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES. On-site services include after school programs, job training and placement, benefits advocacy, transportation to medical appointments, and training for the developmentally disabled. The developmentally disabled have such a challenging path – and too little is said of those who have dedicated their lives to watching over them. Our in-home Caregiver Respite Services provides much-needed RESPITE AND RELIEF from these efforts, enabling the primary caregivers to have the time to take care of other needs and REGENERATE THEIR SPIRITS.
