BLUE BUTTERFLY VILLAGE
A Supportive environment for transformation & healing
Blue Butterfly Village (BBV) is a townhouse community located in the San Pedro area of Los Angeles. The idyllic setting combined with supportive services is a unique model that is the first of its kind in the nation.
Former military housing, each of the 73 2-bedroom units are now subsidized for families currently experiencing homelessness: 61 of the units are dedicated to veterans with VASH Section 8 vouchers; and, 12 are for families eligible under MHSA, with a preference for veterans. Families with a history of domestic violence (DV) and/or military sexual trauma (MST) will have move-in priority for all units. The community will provide an ideal environment, encouraging wellness and independence.
Each townhouse is fully furnished and all utilities are included in the rent. Amenities include in-unit laundry, garage, children’s play area and walking path and community rooms. BBV is also home to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Protected Palos Verdes Blue Butterfly Sanctuary.
U.S. Secretary of Veteran Affairs Robert A. McDonald, Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti and Congresswoman Janice Hahn visiting Blue Butterfly Village. Congressman Ted Lieu and Los Angeles City Council Member Joe Buscaino also have visited the BBV community.
