Prepare
for success with Head Start

Give your child a Head Start.
The Head Start Program provides a well-rounded preschool
experience to prepare children between the ages of three
and five for kindergarten. Through enriching classroom
activities and parent participation, Head Start
fosters children's individuality and growth.

Programs
and services include:
- Half-day
pre-school care for toddlers, with a high teacher to
child ratio and meal service
- Nutrition,
health and dental services
- Social
and health services and referrals
- Mental
health and disability evaluation; programs and referrals
- Home
visiting for infants and toddlers provides instruction
on child development and helps families with other types
of support.
- Parent
education training
- Mental
health and disability evaluation, services and referrals
- Services
are offered in both English and Spanish
Families
are required to participate
and counseling is provided on nutrition, health care and
parenting.
Eligibility
- Children
between the ages of three and five years
- Children
with disabilities are accepted.
- Children
and families with special needs are eligible.
- Children
are accepted regardless of race, religion, or ethnic
origin.
- Children
must be properly immunized upon entering the program
including a current TB test by family members, within
the past twelve months.
- Early Head Start and Head Start Services are free to low income families that live within the program service area. Children with Special Needs also qualify for services. Please call for more information (818) 980-2287.
- The
programs are funded by the US Department of Health and
Human Services' Administration for Children and Families
through the Los Angeles County Office of Education. An
excellent example of taxes at work.
We
now give children a Head Start in several locations preparing
them for success.
