Empower

Youth Empowerment

We tutor, mentor, and empower more than 2,500 at-risk youth each year from underserved communities, and are proud to say that more than 90% of our seniors graduate and go on to college with scholarships.  A remarkable accomplishment considering L.A. is known for having one of the highest drop-out rates on record.

We have an ongoing campaign to raise money for college scholarships, ongoing program enhancements, leadership and literacy programs, afterschool social and cultural activities and mentoring to help cour youth develop a stronger sense of self-confidence around their ability to obtain an education and to succeed in life.

These hard-working young people are determined to graduate high school, go to college and succeed in life.  Most will be the first in their families to attend college.

We are thankful for the ongoing support of our friends who have helped us to expand our youth programs to include Upward Bound, Girls Inc., L.E.A.D., and Positive Alternatives which allows us to meet the needs of even more of L.A.’s youth who live in deep poverty in underserved areas and constantly face falling victim to gangs, drug abuse, crime, teen pregnancy and more.

We hope you will consider this opportunity to join us in helping today’s youth to become the leaders of tomorrow.  With your help, we can give them the opportunity to realize their dreams.
