My Life Today ...

" ... I have no regrets and I am pleased to see so many women doing so well in all fields today ..."

I am very thankful to God for his help in my life efforts. I have a comfortable life and I enjoy my family and friends. I retired from CSULB in 1992 and began a part-time business: Elephant Fashions, selling accessories from Thailand at festivals and shows. I retired from this business venture in 2003.I have no regrets and I am pleased to see so many women doing so well in all fields today. It’s wonderful to be able to accomplish your goals and I feel that I was able to accomplish mine.

Currently, I spend my time working on projects for Soroptimist International of Long Beach and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Long Beach Alumnae Chapter; exercising my body and mind by walking, going to the gym, and taking a French conversation class; having lunch with friends, going to the movies, watching my grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up, and traveling to see friends and family in other parts of the country and world.

Soroptimist International is a world-wide organization of women in management and professions working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women. I have been a member since 1980 and am now classified as a "Life Member."I received the Soroptimist International of Long Beach "Hall of Fame Award" on June 11, 2003 for exemplary service. This award is given each year to a member in recognition of her service as a Soroptimist.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is a private, non-profit organization of college educated women whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities. I have been a member since 1950 and am now a "Delta Dear."

I received the "Charlotte Berry Dedication Award" on March 31, 2001 in recognition of outstanding service to the Long Beach Alumnae Chapter. This award is now given each year to a chapter member for outstanding service.  On August 24, 2005; I received the Farwest Regional "Most Inspirational Soror of the Year Award".

I sincerely hope that I will be able to inspire women for many more years in the future.
